Manchester & Cheshire Dogs Home

Because of their early training, retired Greyhounds have never been without the company of other Greyhounds and have never had the opportunity to really be a puppy. They may need to act out some puppy behaviour, like chewing, which they typically quickly outgrow. They are eager to please and can be trained with patience, consistency and positive reinforcement. They are used to walking on the lead and will learn to heel quickly. Most Greyhounds do not know how to sit, climb stairs, or play games only because they have not yet learned.

Me and my family like to go on holiday at least twice a year. I trust Vicky 100% to look after my dogs and also with the added benefit that I feel secure & that my home is protected and cared for when I am not there. The dogs adore her and we wouldn’t trust anyone else now.

We provide dog owners with the perfectalternative to kennelsso you can be confident that your four-legged friend will receive the same amount of love and attention that they are used to at home. As we all know, healthy dogs are happy dogs and they, therefore, need plenty of regular exercise to help them stay fit. Most dogs also benefit greatly from socialising, and that's where the group walks provide the best fun.

Arlo needs a quiet home with some dog experience, with no visiting children or other pets. Orla deserves an active home, one who has experience of large breeds and plenty of time to spend with her. Once he gets the excitement out of his system he loves nothing better than to settle down and have cuddles and he is a very affectionate boy. Generally, Greyhounds are quizzical, sometimes shy, very sensitive, and surprisingly gentle. They possess superior intelligence and can exhibit a quiet but surprising independence. These are not animals whose spirit has been broken by their training or racing experience.

Poppet came into our care as a transfer from another kennels and originally she was a stray so we have no history on her and we aren’t sure if she has been in a home environment previously. We feel the best home for her would be one with patient and understanding owners and a family with children no younger than 15 years old – subject to a successful meet. Bobby is our lovely Greyhound boy looking for his forever home.

Lassiecame into our care via RSPCA Inspectors after the owner was reported to the RSPCA for neglecting and ill-treating her. She was very underweight and very scared when she came into RSPCA care.

He came into our care from the inspectors and sadly it appears he has been passed around and had a few homes through no fault of his own . Meeting other dogs and people – you’ll never know how she will react to other dogs and people, mostly she’s interested in and pulls to meet, others she’ll just bark at them. Daphne is full of life and outgoing, when you first meet her she may be a little shy but she soon bursts out of her shell and you get to see the giddy girl she is. However Velma is very nervous, it takes a lot longer than Daphne for her to come out of her shell.

We have a purpose built room with pens within our home. The gang are very settled within their own environment. I feel very comfortable for Vicky to care for them in our home. We come to your own home where your dog is already familiar with the surroundings and home.

Molly did spend a few months in a foster home but had to return to kennels as the foster family were not able to keep her long-term and when she first came back to kennels, she took a while to adjust. Tank is better as an only pet and would be a great addition to any family and enjoys his morning cup of tea. If you are interested in offering Rocco or any of our other dogs a home get in contact with us or please use this link toapply for him. He will need teaching its ok to be left alone as this really worries him at the moment. We are looking for a family that ideally works from home currently to continue his training. 🐾 Due to her being fearful and anxious, she would benefit from a home with someone who has the time to work on her training needs.

He is a good boy on walks and does not seem too bothered when coming across other dogs . He can be quite strong though so his owner will need to be physically able to exercise him . “As she is quite big, she can be a little scary when you first meet her, as she’s got a good deep bark.

Both Janet and Malcolm love travelling and spend most of the winter months abroad. Janet and Malcolm are both dog lovers and miss their poodle Ted, who they lost a few years ago, but feel that they have lots of love, companionship and time to give to our Home Boarded Dogs. Janet and Malcolm are a lovely retired couple living in a beautiful part of Thelwall.

They live in a recently refurbished bungalow which has a lovely safe and secure rear garden. They love walking and like nothing better than having a dog to share this with. I was leaving my beautiful 10 month Cavapoo Lulu for the very first time whilst I went on holiday. I was really not looking forward to leaving her, but I certainly had no reason at all to worry.
